Anxiety in a young child is heartbreaking, it's a fine line of not ignoring it but also not pandering to it. My eldest daughter is only young but at 7 years of age she can struggle with life. On things that seem so small and insignificant but are so great and huge to her.
I have recognised that talking about what worries her is so important. But I also recognise at times she and many others may not want to talk. Or may not find an opportunity or the right person to sit and talk with. In order to give these young souls an outlet we devised a Worry Range. Teddies for little ones and cushions for young teens.
They write their worry down and place it in the pouch. At some point they come back and write on the reverse of the card how they overcame their worry. What steps they took, who helped them, whether the worry was necessary and how to handle it the next time. These cards can be a useful point of reference to aid them in the future the next time their anxiety kicks in.
Choose between a cute bear - William Worry, cuddly bunny - Winnie & Walter Worry, strong reindeer - Winston Worry or cheeky fox - Wilma Worry with each teddy you will get a pack of 10 worry cards.
